Troupe Member Kind-Of Pissed About Ellipses
By Georgia Perry
There is a popular saying among improv comedians that the truth is funnier than anything else. But one member of Awkward Silence Comedy is claiming that the truth has been tampered with.
A troupe member for almost three years, junior Georgia Perry claims that the ellipses at the end of her biography page were added post-mortem, and that she “never has and never will use ellipses.”
“We were supposed to write our own bios and email them to Brian when he made the site,” troupe member Georgia Perry said to her computer screen, in reference to group founder and web site designer Brian M. Frange. “But I never put those ellipses in the bio I wrote,” continued Perry. “And frankly I’m kind of shitty about it,” she added.
According to Perry, she wrote the bio herself, sans ellipses, and emailed it to Frange, who then uploaded it to the website. “And I know it was him who added those ellipses,” said Perry.
“Who the hell else could have done it?” Perry wondered aloud.
Frange, an IU senior, made no comment about the situation [editor’s note: No attempt was made to reach Frange before press time. But it will be him who uploads this article to the website, so take that for what it’s worth, I guess].
In the past Perry reportedly harbored hopes that the ellipses would eventually be removed from her bio page, but commented at press time that if they were, this article would no longer be appropriate.
“It’s about getting myself out there,” Perry said. “I mean, ideally I’d be able to do that without the ‘help’ of unsolicited ellipses, but what can you do?” she added.
The reporter would like to note that, despite the current situation, Perry is very attractive and funny and will probably make it big...
